Harvard University is pleased to announce the opening of the Amgen Scholars Program for summer 2026. This program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduates to explore biotechnology research, receive expert mentorship, and connect with a community of motivated scholars.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
- Eligible Countries: United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for research in biotechnology, biomedical sciences, and related STEM fields across participating Harvard departments and institutes.
- Admissible Criteria: Applicants must meet all the following requirements:
• Be U.S. citizens or permanent residents (international students are ineligible).
• Be currently enrolled undergraduate students at accredited four-year U.S. colleges or universities.
• Be sophomores, juniors, or non-graduating seniors at the time of application.
• Hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
• Demonstrate genuine interest in pursuing a PhD or MD/PhD in biotechnology or biomedical sciences.
• No prior research experience is required.
• Must be available for the full 10-week program (June 3 – August 8, 2026) and reside in Harvard-provided housing.
Scholarship Application Guidelines:
All application materials must be submitted through the Harvard University Funding Portal by February 1, 2026 (11:59 PM ET).
A complete application includes:
A) Essays – Four essays (Research Interest, Preparation, Goals, Contribution to Community), formatted as instructed and uploaded as a single PDF.
B) Resume – Maximum two pages, single-spaced.
C) Two Letters of Recommendation from science faculty, advisors, or research mentors.
D) Current Transcript(s) including Fall 2025 grades (unofficial accepted temporarily for study-abroad students).
E) Research Areas and Lab Interests Up to three preferred research areas and three potential Harvard faculty hosts.
