The University of British Columbia in partnership with the Canadian Celiac Association wants to award the J.A. Campbell Research Award for the academic year 2023-2024. The award will be presented to applicants who are admitted or enrolled in a master’s or doctoral study programme at the University of British Columbia to conduct research on topics that align with the cause and operations of the Canadian Celiac Association. International and Canadian students can apply.

Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Eligible Countries: Canadian and other international students can apply. 
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can undertake masters or doctoral degree studies at the University of British Columbia.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be working on a research project in a scientific, applied science, and/or medical nature relevant to celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and/or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or the socio-economic implications of delayed diagnosis and/or living with these conditions.

Scholarship Application Guidelines:

  • How to Apply: Admission applications must be made via UBC‡s university portal. Students interested in the scholarship can obtain the applications form here.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Research proposal 
  • Budget 
  • Principle Research Background 
  • Past publications 
  • List of research projects 
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants are required to meet the admission requirements of the university for their desired course and course level. 
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • CAEL – 70 
  • Cambridge English Qualifications – 180 
  • CEL – 600 
  • IELTS – 6.5 
  • PTE – 65 
  • TOEFL IBT – 90 
  • DET – 125 

Scholarship Benefits:

The successfully selected graduate students will be awarded a Award amount of $25,000 by the Canadian Celiac Association to pursue their studies at the University of British Columbia.
